December 5, 2008, will be a red letter day for Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity. A team of folks from Thrivent Financial and Habitat for Humanity are working together to create a wonderful celebration—a celebration of what we've accomplished in 2008 and our Thrivent Builds commitments for 2009. Preparations have begun for a block party on Trace Lane in Long Beach, Mississippi, where 28 Thrivent Builds homes are under construction.
Teams of volunteers helping with the Trace Lane construction will gather along with partner families, government officials, Habitat representatives from both the local and international organizations, Thrivent representatives from the local, regional and national levels and area friends and supporters. The block party is planned for 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a special program and announcements at 2:30. There will be plenty of food, fun and frivolity!
