Engaging Your Congregation
Perhaps you've already worked with a Habitat build in
the past, or you know a homeowner whose life was changed through Habitat
for Humanity. There are many local Thrivent Builds Homes projects happening all around the country. The first step to getting your congregation involved is to let your local Thrivent Builds Specialist you're interested by filling out an online interest form. Become a Congregational Champion
Changing lives by working shoulder-to-shoulder with someone to build their home comes from the heart. Leading a group of your fellow congregation members comes from your heart, too, but with a sense of wanting to do more – giving more of your time and effort to help a family in need.
If you are a Thrivent Financial for Lutherans member, you can lead your congregation’s efforts to join Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity by becoming a Thrivent Builds Congregational Champion.
Congregational Champions work with other caring people as an important part of the Thrivent Builds Homes team. With the help of your teammates, Congregational Champions play a very important role:
- Teach people in your congregation about Thrivent Builds.
- Recruit volunteers for your local Thrivent Builds Homes project.
- Coordinate fund-raising within your congregation.
